Astarte is a sedan yacht of 32 meters length, totally built in aluminium by the well-known Italian shipyard Baglietto. Its unquestionable sports aspect is accentuated with the development of a well cared of design, in which extraordinarily purified lines are also to the service of radical aerodynamics.

Baglietto is one of the makes of greatest tradition in the large yachts international arena. It carries the name of its founder, Pietro Baglietto, who in 1854 opened in Varazze, near Genoa, facilities dedicated to the construction of small cargo, passage and fishing ships. Otherwise said: the company has more than 150 years of experience. But the name Baglietto began to enjoy an international reputation at the turning of the XXth century, when it got into the manufacturing of leisure and competition boats, with important successes at the rendezvous and race boats competitions that flourished at that time. The world wars took Baglietto to build boats for military purposes, with the technological requirements that it entails, developing knowledge that later would be applied to the construction of large yachts. In 2004 Baglietto was acquired by the Gruppo Camuzzi, a group of companies with interests in the real estate sector, the media – in Italy they publish the Reader's Digest Selection- the chemical industry, health and hot baths. In 2005 the group also acquired Cantieri di Pisa, so that their interests in the yachting industry include the Baglietto traditional facilities in Varazze, those of the Ferrari shipyard in La Spezia, that had already joined Baglietto for some years and, now, also those in Pisa, so that the group can assume a great variety of orders. Recently they have signed a contract with the Guardia de Finanze for the construction of 56 patrol boats of 14 meters.

AERODINAMIC PROFILE
Astarte, who was the main goddess of the primitive Eastern Mediterranean people, received important sacrifices of its devotees. It does not seem that the guests of this yachts are going to carry out any sacrifice. Much on the contrary, everything what they are going to find on board will be pleasant.
The yacht is part of Baglietto "Fast Yachts" line, also made of 30, 34 and 38 meters models that catch the eye strongly with their aerodynamic lines that announce high-level performances. Many are the aesthetic elements that the architect Francesco Paszkowsi has used to accentuate the personality of this yacht, such as the glassed ceiling or the suppression of the lateral walkways astern, so that it is not possible to go to the fore cockpit without previously going through the interior, because the aft part of the walkways are occupied almost in its totality by the enormous grids that protect the air intakes for the engine room. But with no doubt what will delight the most to the purists of design is the solution on the bow, totally flush, that hides the manoeuvre and a large stowage room. Eventually, hand rails and guard ropes can be mounted and but, without them, the purity of lines is unquestionable.
In order to get to the bow it is necessary to go out to the lateral walkways through either of the pantograph doors on the superstructure. The walkways are covered in teak and the rest of the surface has a clear non-slip finish where it is possible to step on. The deck is divided in three parts, under a uniform aluminium skin. The aft part hides a Zodiac Yachtline of 4,50 meters tender and a water bike under a solid electro hydraulic cover; inside this storeroom there is a hidden crane for the launching, also painted in metallic grey, and there is enough space for the fenders and other voluminous equipment. Just in front there is the area destined to sun bathing, with more than four meters length, surrounded by clips to be able to fix a cover that covers up the long cushions avoiding having to take them away. The third area, at the forward end of the bow, accentuates the purity of the lines of the boat, because all the anchorage manoeuvre is hidden underneath flush hatch covers that conceal two windlasses and other large size fittings, to the point that a person can get inside up to half its height to be able to manoeuvre safely.
As the bow is mainly subject to the technical requirements, the stern is destined for living and relaxation, with two large sofas that can be used for sun bathing, placed on individual pieces of furniture painted in awlgrip, in the same colour as the rest of the boat. A service cabinet on starboard lodges the necessary equipment, like the sink, the fridge, etc… and a good part of this deck can be protected from the sun with a hood that unfolds automatically from underneath the poop deck.
The range of colours has been reduced to the maximum: the metallic grey dominates all over the outside, with the exception of the floor, made in teak. In this way the very latest actuality combines with the natural texture of wood.

OVERHEAD LIGHT
The definition of the interiors is collaboration between Paszkowski himself with Danielle Chopard, the architect chosen by the owner. A four leaved automatic opening door, allows to access the saloon from the cockpit.The solutions used in this atmosphere powerfully call the attention for the use of natural materials in a surrounding of great technological sophistication. The atmosphere is subdivided symmetrically in two parts; on starboard there is a large dinning room with table and seats for eight people whereas on port there is a living area with two smaller tables, surrounded by two sofas that also come into being chaises longues. All the seats have been upholstered with white fabric and the floor is made of teak wood with very long strips. But the greater demonstration is in the ceiling, a skylight subdivided in 12 zenith pieces with coloured glass that prevent the heat coming through and filter the light with the aid of curtains that slide inside of this ceiling and that hide astern when they are not used.The natural illumination invades this space in a fresh way, whereas the artificial illumination has been solved by means of specific spotlights placed precisely over the girders of the skylight.
Forward of this atmosphere there is the steering position, but just before it a service cabinet has been located, but separated, so that it is accessible from all its sides. Hiding inside there is the television screen oriented towards the saloon and the service elements – sink, wine rack... accessible from the bow, but in a way that those will also be oriented towards the saloon, being able to act somehow as a bar cabinet.
The steering position is raised regarding to the rest of the floor. It equips two large individual adjustable armchairs, but placed so that the skipper is over the centre line in front of an enormous and totally equipped console. Over it the commands of the jet propulsion system, the manoeuvre joystick, two electronic control screens, the MTU engines multifunctional screens and a navigation screen with great resolution and luminosity as it was perfectly readable under the sun and even with sun glasses. The guests who might wish to accompany the skipper during navigation have a living area on the port side, with an L shaped sofa, but without table.

ONLY THREE CABINS
The lower deck is destined for the night and the service areas. One descends from starboard, so that the stairs arrive to a lobby that leaves all the service area astern and all the cabins area forward.The simple observation of the stairs already allows verifying the good quality of the finishes, as the steps are made in wood, inserted with fitted carpet. The decoration is based in whitened oak, but on the floor wengé insertions have been used, obtaining therefore a very good contrast.
The owner’s occupies the bow, solved in suite format, it is accessed from the port side, firstly going through a studio that can also be used as a dressing room; in other versions this space could be occupied by a fourth cabin, but this distribution has been chosen by the owner; the shipyard can offer any other layout, solely respecting the separation bulkhead of the engine room.A door gives access to the cabin itself, with a large sized bed oriented towards the bow, where there is the bathroom in which the independent shower and both tailor made marble sinks stand out, with an elaborated water drainpipe placed underneath a great piece of marble and modern taps that are not minimalist. The main cabin is completed with a dressing table, closets and remarkable audio-visual equipment.
The two guests cabins have similar equipment, with two individual beds, a pullman bunk, and a bathroom separated by a sliding door. The only difference is that the port cabin has the beds oriented towards the bow and the starboard one has them oriented towards the stern.The decorative elements are similar all over, with a certain Zen touch in the lateral curtains, made in wood and paper, with an Oriental style, and Venetian blinds in the bathrooms.
The service area has a totally equipped galley and a living area with television and a closed circuit television screen. From the galley there is access to the two double cabins destined to the crew; these cabins have superposed bunks and direct access to individual bathrooms equipped with shower, toilet and WC.

MUCH TECHNICAL SPACE
The engine room is very spacious, because it allows to accede to the engine from the four sides, and also lodges two 35 kW Kohler generators, the water maker treatment plant with a capacity of 5.700 litres per day, the air conditioned compressors and all the usual systems in this type of boats.The existing space between the machinery and the transom still allows to stow another tender and to install the required crane for its launching, so it is not space what might lack to this yacht. Astar te is propelled with two MTU 12 V 4000 M90 engines that provide a power of 2.775 Hp at 2.100 rpm. With ZF reducing gears and KaMeWa 63 S II water jet transmissions the shipyard indicates a maximum speed of 37,5 knots with the tanks at half load and a cruising speed of 34 knots, when the range is estimated at 400 nautical miles.
