The voyages organised by Viento Sur in Brazil take place in Angra dos Reis, 168 kilometres from Río de Janeiro. With over 360 islands and 2,000 beaches, this coast is a paradise for navigation.

Since 2001, the Viento Sur Company has specialised in the rental of mega-yacht ships, for leisure as well as events management in Spain, Côte d’Azur, and Brazil. Its outstanding activities include participation in events such as the America’s Cup, the Formula 1 Gran Prix in Monaco, and the Carnival in Río de Janeiro.
However if Viento Sur stands out among the national charter companies, it is because they have specialised in Brazil as a luxur y cruise destination. Their expert knowledge of the zone assures privileged advice in relation to the best areas for navigation, leisure and tourism activities, as well as trustwor thy information about the climate, the navigation, and the customs of the country. Due to their years of experience in Brazil, they also have a professional relation with all types of service and transport companies; thus the client may request anything from a helicopter until the organisation of on-board catering with Brazil’s cocktail champion. Everything is possible, because the charter is custom-made for each client. The Brazil fleet is comprised by mega-yacht ships with crew, where we highlight the Ferretti 82 and an Azimut 105, with all major conveniences and fully equipped for recreation with jet skis, freeboards, fishing and snorkelling equipment. Viento Sur will also organise and manage all the activities that you wish to carry out during the voyage, such as excursions, parties, transfers, and scuba diving courses in the zone’s local schools. The gastronomy is handled by the on-board chef, who cooks typical Río de Janeiro (“carioca”) cuisine or designs a custom gourmet menu for the client.

A WEEK IN PARADISE
You may begin this exceptional voyage from East to West, reaching por t in Ensenada das Palmas and explore the island on foot until the Atlantic coast, where the beautiful Lopes Mendes beach is located. It is near Saco do Céu, a protected anchoring zone; it is a mandatory stop due to its beauty and the delicious food of its pousada. The next cove is Sitio For te which is also an excellent landing point. Then set sail to Ilha Grande, the largest island of Angra dos Reis –with 174 sq. kilometres and 106 beaches-, the ship glides through green waters surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Departing from this island towards the continent, the voyage includes paradisiacal spots such as Ilhas Botinhas or Ilha Gipoiá, where you may visits Praia do Dentista.
Paraty is the next port. This small colonial city was one of the most important ports in the 17th Century. The wealth of this period is reflected in its beautifully conserved Colonial buildings, which have been declared a World Heritage location by UNESCO. At present, hundreds of visitors explore its streets or the Bocaina mountains in order to visit one of the last tropical forest reserves in the Atlantic. Paraty also offers numerous virgin white sand beaches, and small peaceful bays with emerald green seas. The ideal way to enjoy Paratí’s atmosphere is to arrive at night to dine in one of its restaurants, enjoy some “caipirinha” cocktails in bars with live Bosanova music and sleep in a pousada, such as Sandi or the Marquesa. The next day, an excellent option is to set a Southeast course to the islands of Catimbau, Algodâo, or until Saco do Fondâo and anchor in the shelter of Ilha Cotia, or continue on to Saco de Mamanguá. However if you wish to enjoy a truly exclusive experience, Viento Sur offers the possibility to rent a private island, Francisca or Sâo Joâo, for groups of up to 20 guests. After mooring the yacht, you may spend the night in luxur y apar tments and bungalows which have three private beaches, tennis court, and football field, among other facilities, as well as heliport, transport boat, and auxiliary ship. Carnival in Río de Janeiro.Viento Sur recommends starting the voyage in Río de Janeiro to discover this city’s most emblematic zones, and above all, enjoy its spectacular Carnival. From private box seats located in the Professor Darcy Ribeiro catwalk, the world’s most famous Samba-drome with a capacity for over 62,000 personas, Viento Sur’s clients may comfortably watch the lively movements of the Samba Schools that participate in the parade. The next day, the guests travel to the por t of Río de Janeiro and set sail to Angra dos Reis.
