Heading to the sky

Celestial HopeThe owner of this super yacht was inspired by a romantic movie set in the Eastern Coast of the United States for the design of its interiors. Dutch technology, British design for the interiors and Russian project management are aspects that show the globalisation of the large yachts market.

Hessen is a shipyard that has a good reputation and prestige in the world of large yachts. Founded in 1978 by Frans Hessen, who is its current president, was the first Dutch shipyard to use aluminium to build hulls, having since then a leading position in the design, engineering and construction of high performance aluminium motor yachts. In 1992 the company expanded its activity also into steel construction and its facilities currently have six sheds, the largest of which is 90 meters long, 30 meters wide and 17 height and last year they ordered the construction of other three, all of them with a 55 metres long dry dock, all of which enables them to build up to nine yachts from 37 to 65 meters length each year, with an order book that is usually occupied in two thirds by aluminium yachts. Hessen plans to hand over fourteen yachts until 2012 with a total length of 650 meters, which endorses the confidence placed in this company by a large number of owners worldwide.
