Beauty for connoisseurs

Marie by Vitters. © Tom Nitsch - By courtesy of Vitters. An owner with a passion for valuable objects was needed to commission a yacht of this grandeur, where a nautical antique collection is showcased alongside state-of-the-art technology and excellent craftsmanship.

To enjoy the sea and its vistas, from an array of vantage points, seems to have been the goal of the owner of Marie, one of those yachts with a true wow factor: stunning to look at, but even more pleasurable when on board relishing the sea views and her sails at full mast.
The 54-metre Hoek design grants a gigantic deck, where the sheer already creates an excellent visual line thanks to the centre being more recessed than the sides, in the style of classic boats. But what really should be highlighted is the host of options to spend hours in contact with the sea and also the beautiful woodwork on this deck.
To aft the owner has a private deckhouse, whose curved lintel windows bestow breathtaking views either from the sofa or the desk placed there. An adjoining cockpit offers a second private area, this time outdoors, where seeing the wake and listening to the roar of the sea as the sailboat scythes through the water must be an enormous pleasure.Amidships, at almost maximum beam, is the social cockpit. This is a multi-use space, where a centrally-placed table can host lavish banquets or intimate dinners.  Also here are two corner tables surrounded by L-shaped sofas, as well as other more secluded social areas near the main deckhouse. There are also low bench seats facing the corridor, built into the outer part of the coaming, from where guests can take in the seascape or passing coastline in relative privacy. Finally there are two steering positions with two-seater benches, facing the huge wheels, and on the same level as the winches to aft.
Ahead of the deckhouse lies an enormous locker which also doubles as a seating area to marvel at the extravaganza of Marie when she is underway. Between this area and the mainmast there is still a long section of deck, below which several lockers are concealed, and which can seat up to fourteen guests around a large table when Marie is at-anchor. Ahead of the mast is a spacious garage which houses a six-metre-plus tender.
Those who prefer to admire the show from the safety and comfort of indoors can use the upper deckhouse saloon, where once again the views and space available are spectacular: a full bar to starboard and a sofa and coffee table to port mean guests can choose their favourite spot to relax.
Last but certainly not least is the most exclusive viewing point that Marie offers to her passengers: a mechanically-powered two-person crow’s nest that climbs a rail on the mainmast beyond the third crosstree to offer a truly unforgettable panoramic view.
