All-aluminium
Totally built in aluminium by Italian shipyard Mondomarine, Toy-A harmoniously couples an extremely dynamic exterior image with classic interiors, earmarked for family and corporate use, where each stateroom boasts its very own personality.
The international economic climate doesn’t seem to be throwing Mondomarine anywhere off course. It’s all smooth sailing for the Italian shipyard, worlds apart from the huge waves battering financial entities across the world. Its discretion makes the brand be appreciated by true connoisseurs, but its facilities allow for the construction of motor and sailing yachts in all types of materials such as steel and aluminium, as well as oil derivatives. The firm has now delivered way in excess of fifty units.
Its facilities in Savona, near Genoa, cover more than 30,200 metres, 7,800 of which are covered, and boast 150 metres of quays, a 150-ton dry dock and a roll dock for boats up to 75 metres and 1,200 tons displacement. The company has its own carpentry, metalwork, painting and mechanics workshops, as well as non-destructive ultrasonic and X-ray testing systems, all of which account for an all-round range of services, from construction to outfitting hulls built elsewhere and full refits. But what few superyacht enthusiasts know is that Mondomarine, despite producing 50-metre-plus yachts, is just a small division of a top Italian multinational. Mondo started out in 1948 making handballs and today is the world leader in the manufacture of rubber items, from sports balls to tennis courts, as well as the athletics tracks for eight Olympics and thousands of metres of moving walkways in airports, meaning that Mondo is present on all five continents. This provides great economic solvency for the shipyard, launched in 1978 and for over ten years specialising in the construction of large yachts.
