The pleasure of mooring

BEAULIEU SUR MERBeaulieu in French, literally means, beautiful place. There is no doubt that the name honours the place, a combination of privileged landscape that man has shaped to his convenience, to get an enclave that is both as attractive as serene.

Beaulieu-sur-Mer occupies a privileged place in the French Riviera, between Monaco and Nice. Completely facing the sun at midday and absolutely protected from the cold northern winds by steep cliffs. The Alps do get into the sea here and provide a unique combination of factors, of an eternal spring. No wonder that the South of France was chosen as the favourite destination by the Central European aristocrats spending the winters since the mid nineteenth century. It was from that time onward that Beaulieu developed its potential, with the creation of remarkable buildings, luxury hotels, villas, gardens and avenues that attract financiers and crowned heads.
The place has an unquestionable geographic attractive, neighbouring with some of the most exclusive tourist destinations on the planet, Monaco on one side and Cap Ferrat on the other one. Beaulieu then faces completely an extraordinary bay, the Baie des Fourmis closed by the Cap Ferrat peninsula and that is certainly the world’s most famous anchorage for large yachts. During the summer it is usual to find here more than a hundred large yachts, coming from Antibes or Monaco, a dozen of which can be larger than 50 meters.
