Nostalgia within technology
Benetti Sail Division is a shipyard that specialises in building one off yachts in steel and aluminium, with a limited production and completely custom finishes. The Oldtimer is its current flagship, built as an evocative image of the past, equipped with the most modern technology and with an ocean going range.
The Italian shipyard Benetti Sail Division is moving firmly in the field of large displacement and semi displacement motor yachts built to the unit. Although the company has a catalogue of nine models with lengths ranging between 79 and 115 feet, its completely handmade finishes are one of its strong points, as it allows to meet the needs and desires of each owner.
It usually attracts the attention that a shipyard dedicated to the construction of motor yachts would have the name “Sail Division. It happens that the yard was established in 1978 as a department of the famous Fratelli Benetti shipyard in Viareggio, with the intention of building sailing boats and motor sailors. In 1981 the department became independent from the main company so that, when in 1985 Azimut bought Fratelli Benetti, this division stayed aside from the operation and since then has maintained its independence. Consequently, it is convenient not to confuse the yachts built under the Benetti trademark, from those built by Benetti Sail Division, a much smaller company.
Heading Benetti Sail Division is its founder, Riccardo Benetti, and the company has specialized in the construction of steel and aluminium one off yachts, with completely customized finishes.
