The Ferretti Custom Line range was born with the aim of offering yachts of a bigger length to the ones of the Ferretti Yachts catalogue, in which the shipyard offers a superior adaptation capacity to the desires of the owner. This model becomes the smallest one of this line and incorporates new aesthetic elements that grant it a great personality.

The Custom Line range at the moment is made up of three models. The 97’ and the 112’ with a planning hull and the Navetta 30 meters, with characteristics of an exploration yacht and a semi displacement hull bottom. The Custom Line 43 meters, totally built in petroleum by-products, will soon join, although it will have a displacement hull equipped with a bulbous bow. This yacht is built at the shipyard that group has in Fano, whereas the rest of the Custom Line range is built at the CRN shipyard in Ancona. The Custom Line 97’ has a raised pilot house typology, that is to say, with the main steering position located in an independent deck, that means an evolution of a successful model: the 94’, of which 21 units have been sold. The renovation does not only take place in the increase of the length but in the total modification of the interiors and in remarkable aesthetic characteristics that give to it a great personality. The philosophy of the Custom Line yachts is to offer a semi custom product, with the hull, the superstructure and a great part of the structure as standard, but with a great adaptation capacity to the desires of the owner regarding the finishes, including different distribution possibilities. Therefore a shipyard’s architect follows the construction of each unit and is in frequently in contact with the owner, who can choose between a series of proposals of furniture and decorative materials.

Evolution of the Aesthetic elements

Zuccon International Project design studio has developed the large lateral windows of the hull. Our readers will remember that in the Ferretti models of greater length large square windows have been added to the hull that, also have port holes that can be opened. In this case the windows are rectangular and the port holes are vertical. This solution is an evolution of the previous aesthetic elements and also provides the cabins with great natural lighting also allowing their ventilation. In addition, with the incorporation of two of these windows on each side all the guests’ cabins have equal possibilities regarding lighting and natural ventilation. Another novelty is the inclusion of the hard ceiling over the fly bridge. It is the first time that a yacht of the Ferretti group mounts an appendage of this type, so that the occasion has been advantageously seized to create a singular ceiling. In fact, this ceiling leans aesthetically on the lateral girder of what would be an antennae arch, but also on other two front supports, so that it produces a sensation of a very light visor. In addition, the centre of its surface is occupied by stained glass, as if it was an horizontal window, that can be closed with an underneath cur tain, allowing to control the light at will; the shipyard also offers the possibility of mounting a totally opaque ceiling, in fibreglass.

Two distributions

The shipyard has studied two basic distributions for this model, with the owner’s cabin always forward on the main deck. One of the versions consists in placing three cabins in the lower deck, one of which acquires a VIP character, because it is located at full beam amidships, with a large bathroom, a dressing room and views from both sides, thanks to the already mentioned large lateral windows of the hull. Such is the space available that some owner will end up preferring it to the cabin located on the main deck.
There are also several solutions possible in case of deciding to have four double cabins on the lower deck. The standard version places two double cabins astern, replacing the VIP cabin, but each one of them equipped with two individual beds placed in parallel to the centre line, or for a double bed for each cabin, but in this case perpendicularly to the centre line and with the bed head of each one them on the side, right underneath the window. It is also possible to choose the arrangement of the furniture of the two forward cabins than can equip a double bed, but located on the side, so that they are accessible from one of the sides and from the end, or even to install two individual beds. In any case all the cabins have their private bathroom, equipped with washbasin, toilet, bidet and a great separated shower that in some of the cabins is replaced by a complete bathtub. This allows configuring a distribution almost to the taste of the owner and also makes possible the use of the yacht in the charter market. The crew quarters has its own living area with galley, two double cabins with bunks, and a shared bathroom for both, in addition to a separate cabin for the Captain, who has a private bathroom. Altogether there is accommodation for five crew members.
