Show, the new Riva 75 Venere is the latest fly bridge model of the famous Italian make. Its outer look is more sporty than usual on a motor yacht, whereas its interiors, always extraordinarily well cared for, transmit simultaneously an elegant and informal image, searching for a younger public.

Riva is the senior member of the international yachting scene, because its origins go back to 1.842, but it now lives a second youth since from May 2000 it was purchased by Ferretti, to include it into the group of the same name. Since then Riva has not stopped to launch to the market models of great exclusivity, with all the technological baggage that it implies to be owned by a large group such as Ferretti and with a permanent effort to offer the best finishing available on the international market. The result is, obviously, the launching of a limited number of units every year, but all of them with a doubtless technical and aesthetic quality. The 75 Venere participates completely in this philosophy and is born with the will to blend the most exclusive tradition that the make has with a more dynamic image, distinctive of the younger clientele who can access to large yachts of this size.

A world of sensations

At first the boat transmits an idea of great solidity, with a high hull, that is only perforated by the portholes of the guest cabins. A horizontal strip hides the portholes of the owner’s cabin and a fixed horizontal window, but of a much smaller size than those on yachts of other makes. Nevertheless, the Riva 75 Venere also displays great dynamism, mainly by means of the interesting solution adopted in the windscreen that extends at an aesthetic level up to fly bridge. Indeed, the space between the fly bridge and the windscreen of the main deck, made in stratified glass tinted in black, is painted in anthracite colour, in such a way that, seen from the front, it offers a very sporty sensation, in contrast with the mass of the hull giving a sensation of great lightness for the superstructure. In addition, the dynamism sensation increases in the case of choosing the dark colour also for the hull, whereas the rest of the fibreglass is not white, but it displays the typical cream colour adopted by Riva. It is also necessary to pay attention to the boat when in navigation, as it hardly displays a bathing platform, but that is not an impediment to enjoy a good platform, because all the transom folds and becomes a large surface as if it was a private beach. When the transom is opened it displays a large storeroom for all kind of equipment, such as a dinghy or a water bike of moderate dimensions, because the tender is stowed on the aft part of the fly bridge. On the contrary, when the transom is closed the boat remains closer to the quay, which makes it easier for the guests to access it through the 3,20 meters hydraulic gangway that comes as standard.

Facilites outdoors

The concept that prevails on the outside of this yacht is to give the maximum facilities to the owner to enjoy the yacht, even without having the assistance of professional crew. We find a good example of that on the fly bridge, protected by a bimini supported by only two metallic arches, that is mounted and removed by means of an electro hydraulic device, so that the intensity of the sun light can be graduated as many times as necessary without bothering about the operation. The fly bridge is accessed through two staircases. One of them directly from the cockpit and the other one from the interior, located between the saloon and the galley. The aft part of the fly bridge is destined to stow the tender, in this case a semi-rigid driven by a 40 Hp Suzuki outboard, that is launched by means of a 400 kilograms Besenzoni crane that will also be used when moving the water bike or heavy objects placed in the stern storeroom previously mentioned.
The rest of fly bridge is clearly divided in two areas. An aft one destined to lie around, with a C shaped sofa that surrounds a teak table with folding wings and adjustable height, which allows using the whole as a solarium surface. In front, acting as a separation from one of the stairs, a service cabinet has been placed fitted with sink, fridge, grill and cupboards. A second area corresponds to the steering position and the spaces destined to the accompanying person, that have a sofa on port and a whole large solarium surface on starboard, in front of the steering position. The Captain has a very comfortable individual sofa, placed in front of an attractive console in which the metallic surfaces are combined with other lacquered in black, with a steering wheel in leather to match the beige tapestry used on all the furniture of this deck.
On the por t side of the console there is a handrail that is used for the staircase that accesses the fly bridge and also as railing for the occupants of the solarium anticipated in front of the steering position. On the main deck the cockpit welcomes a sofa astern, in front of a wood table whose base also serves as a storeroom to stow the five folding chairs that completed this living area. On the aft part of the superstructure, on port, there is a locker prepared to install as an option the third steering position and on starboard stowing lockers under the stairs, and a sink. The lateral walkways are ample, are covered in teak, just as the rail, but it is necessary to highlight the positioning of rubber washers at the base of the stanchions to avoid vibrations, or that the cleats are of exclusive design and display the Riva logo in all the cases. On the foredeck the solarium has an awning that protects the head, whereas the manoeuvre is very complete, with some exclusive design elements such as the sheave anticipated at the highest point of the stem.
